Ever done your horses in your pyjamas?

One day last spring I went to do the horses very early in the morning so I sneaked up in my pyjamas and wellies (have to go 300 yards along road between my house and land). Luckily didn't get seen but when I got up there I met my friend who was wearing a Barbour hat, nightie, joddie boots with socks sticking out over the top and an old jacket. We just fell about and wondered whether there were other people doing their horses in their nightwear.

Do you ever do this???!!!!!
 
Most mornings it's t-shirt, knickers and wellies. I only have to wander about 100 feet to the yard though. They get fed, then I go back to the house and make breakfast (and packed lunches) for husband and daughter.

Not this morning - far too blooming cold!

I usually stagger out of bed, pull on lilac dressing gown, stumble down the stairs, into the hall where I grab wellies (and a coat and hat if its cold), fall into my car, and somehow end up at the yard. If my sisters are really unlucky then I'll also get lumbered with the school run as its on route too

I even had my pj's on this morning even though the farrier was up (although because my house is freezing atm it was more jogging bottoms and a thin jumper so hopefully he didn't notice!).

Conversely, in the evenings its not uncommon for me to be mucking out in a skirt as I often go up straight from uni!

Whats even more embarrasing is that not only do all the neighbours know but our yard is on a public footpath so many, many walkeres and locals from the pub where I work have also seen me sporting my pink fairy pj's and a lilac dressing gown

Used to do it all the time as a kid - we used to have those all in one sleep suits and just used to chuck on wellies and a coat! Don't do it anymore as don't live at home
 
Used to every morning when the horses were outside the back door at my parents!! Don't now though as its a bit far away plus a fairly busy yard with a carpentry workshop etc next door!
 
Ummm quite alot of the time. Indoor National Champs and Junior Trinations are the ones that stick out at me as PJ wearing mucking out.
 
Many times, when Cass was at home. I was even in nightie and dressing gown and wellies when the vet came to treat Cass's colic. I would usually give Cass her morning feed whilst I was in nightie/wellie ensemble. I had to be careful as the gardens were open to the public and groups of old dears would come to see the flowers, didn't want to give them a heart attack!
 
I do every morning. I keep pj's on a put some joggers on over the top with my coat and trainers. The change into wellies when i get to the yard! Its easier to keep pj's on so when i get home i can hop back into bed for an hour before getting up for work!!!!

Many a time - esp when she was living acroos the road. I used to whizz over the road with my coat over the top - sometimes I even remebered to change my slippers too

Ive got into bed one night and it started raining REALLY hard so i just jumped in the car and went and brought my veteran in wearing a little lace night gown thingy lol. Everyone at the yard was a bit shocked lol but im glad there were no men there as it was a kinky little number.
 
My daughter does it all the time - it's extremely common for her to get out of bed, pull on her wellies, and raincoat and go out to do the horses. it's also quite common for a lot of the liveries to be doing it as well. It does only seem to be the teenagers though.
 
when i was on livery i could be found sporting my pj's having an early morning gossip with girlies!! also in there pj's, but now i have them at home i try and ride in the morning so get dressed!!, but i normally put them to bed in my pj's!!, i work at home so i have a shower in the morning after riding then shove pj's back on unless i have to go out in the day!!
 
Yes, when I was homeless and lived in a caravan at my horse's livery yard I used to "do" him in dressing-gown and wellies (very fetching). It was great, I'd fall out of bed and put the kettle on for my coffee. Go and give horse his breakfast. Go back and the kettle would have boiled so make and drink coffee. By the time I'd done that, he'd finished his breakfast so we toddled off to the field to turn him out. Then I went back and mucked him out, then got washed and dressed and went to work! His stable was about 15 feet from the caravan so he always got a hug about midnight too when I did a tour of the yard just to make sure all was quiet and no-one had colic/got cast etc.
 
Luckily we have our horses at home so it's easy to nip out and feed them in PJ's - even the dogs stop yapping in shock at the sight of my OH's knobbly knees between his dressing gown and his wellies!
My friends yard is the other side of the village from her house and she thought she'd quickly shoot out and feed them a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday morning before going back to bed for a lie in - problem was she broke down in the middle of the village in her dressing gown and the local council and bands were getting ready for the rememberance day parade!
 
Yes, horses are at home. One day though I'd gone out to feed horses in my fetching pink flanelette nightie and wellies and I couldn't get back in. The door lock had broken and locked the door. Off I trundled to a neighbours, several hundred yards down the lane. They gave me a cup of tea, it was 6 am and the hubby came back with me and had to break a kitchen window and climb in, and force the door. I still do the horses in my nightie, weather permitting.
 
yes, but with tracky bottoms and fleece over them.... i do draw the line at slippers though. BTW I have no excuse as I have to drive 4 miles to the yard!
 
Yes, always checking them in PJ's!!!
Never actually mucked out in them though, they would get dirty and then i'd have to do some washing!!
