As per title really - anyone had lessons at The Yorkshire Riding Centre, either on own horse or (perferrably) their horses? Can you recommend them for lessons? PM if you prefer.

I go every year stay most of a week and have lessons with Stuart Metcalf. Really good.

Worth a try to see how you get on. All depends on your stage of riding and who you relate to. Will is very good too . PM me if you want more info

ill find some details out for you hun. Someone was going to arrange me some lessons on the big bird - ill get his details for you.
btw ive heard nothing but great things about it

Went for a week in March, stayed in the guest house (fabulous) and had 2 lessons a day with either Stuart or Will - had the best time ever. I am hoping to go back soon. Learnt a lot. - Would definately recommend it to anyone.

Have been up a number of times for lessons with Chris Bartle. Would be there a lot more if I could. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Yes many years ago twice on their horses and more recenty on my own had a lesson with Chris Bartle. A friend of mine used to go for weekly lessons, she stopped not because of the instructors or horses, but the only time she should get a lesson was 7pm on a Friday evening and YRC was about 30 miles from where she worked/lived. A lovely, friendly place. Hoping to go back in September for a 2-3 day boot camp for my horse!!

I take my horse there for a lesson most weeks, very friendly place and great instructors, highly recommend lessons with Will

OMG this is where i bought Lady from (grey in my sig)
She was schooled really well, but is cold backed and also stopped letting people on her back so they sold her. And i was lucky enough to buy her.

If anyone nows her from riding there i would love to know anything (and i mean anything) about her as i don't know that much.
I have had her 2 years and 2 month.

Thanks everyone, I'll give them a call and see if I can have a lesson on their horses first, and then take it from there.

Daisy - had forgotten this was the place you'd mentioned, I was trying to find somewhere nearer but I'd rather go further for quality of teaching. During my research I ended up on a webpage discussing schools in local-ish area and some of the things they were mentioning

and yet they did so as if this was acceptable. They mentioned my current place and recommended people didn't go there as instructors seemed like they were gearing you for owning your own horse (went on to mention about how they taught more about techniques) rather than having fun! Anyway if you fancy coming along and having a lesson with me let me know, we could all go see it together.

hi hun, yes i thought id mentioned it to you. If you can get a lesson with Will booked then ill come along (ill bring the big bird along with me). Wills supposed to be very good and the one the guy was going to arrange mes some lessons with - actually i must give him a ring so ill see what he has to say and see when hes next up there to have a chat to Will for us.
Wow - sounds interesting about the webpage you wandered upon - text me or pm me the page as id love to see if theres anything specific written about a few other places I know of.
There is one place that is nearer than YRC but i dont know if she does lessons on her horses - tbh i very much doubt it. ill have a look into other places for you as well

BTW - did you get my super long email (by your standards lol)
