Everything and anything goes wrong! I shouldn't have bothered getting on a horse today. I decided to go for a long hack on one of my favourite rides but I now think it is one of my worst! It all started normally - set off down the bridlewaybut just 2 minutes on board and and horse caught sight of something and decided to spin round and bolt home - I had no ontrol whatsover as was too busy ducking under all of the low branches I had just come past but eventuall pulled her up. Then major tantrum and wouldn;t go back the same way - well I wasn;t gonna give up as it had just taken me 6 months to break this spinning, napping behaviour. So I perservered for 10 mins trying to persuade her to go back but no, rearing turned nasty and then she started to buck so I got off and led her back to the point she span at and she was fine - aarrrgh stupid naive me for thinking she might actually be scared!! So I got back on and had no problems for the next couple of hours - she even let me go through a gate despite being surrounded by nosy calves. Then on the homeward stretch she spooked at a pigeon of all things and the most bizarre thing happened - I ended up being leant back as she lurched forwards but I couldn;t get myself forward again and rolled or her bum and landed flat on back back on the biggest rock in a pile of stinging nettles - ouch!! And she just had the cheek to put her head down and eat after laughing at me. Hmmm horses - at least i've only got a numb back and haven;t broken it. But it doesn;t end there - no not for me - I evntually managed to haul may aching ass back on and ride home in a hunched up position. led her out to the field and she goes and stomps on my foot AGAIN and has broken yet another toe - when will I ever learn to wear my steel toe capped boots - I give up - until tomorrow anyway!!

Ouch! Good excuse for a large glass of wine and nice relaxing hot bath me thinks. At least neither of you were too seriously hurt!

Take care tomorrow!

Hope you are not hurting too much!!

Just to make you feel better.

On Tuesday I crashed my car whilst avoiding a cat, wiping out two tyres and alloys. Cat was fine. I got out of the car to phone my husband and dropped my phone. Took a step towards it and kicked it further away. Broken screen. New phone needed. Got to yard to get Star in and she's been kicked while in the field. (6 marks on her) (Not serious but the last straw!)

So I sympathise entirely. Just glad 3 things happened in one day. Hopefully that's the end of it!

ouch - out of all the things that hurt - its my neck and upper back that feels the worst, followed by little toe thats now the size of a football and then my lower back which is what I landed on. wine helped last night but I think its too early for that today - day off from horses and will enjoy a packet of neurofen!
