Where you could quite happily sell your horse to the highest bidder!!!

Horse has always struggled with canter but we were just starting to crack it but tonight he was worse than ever!!! Now school has gone a bit boggy it's much easier to lean and p*ss off!! I tried every trick in the book and after an hour and half had to admit defeat :(

I was so angry with him and with myself. With him for not doing as he was told and with myself for not being a good enough rider to win the battle.

I was also angry with him as I spent so much time in the school with him that I didn't have time to do anything with my mare who is just coming back into work.

To top it off I spent £400 fixing my van on Monday and Tuesday the central locking went and today it broke down 3 times :(

Feeling very sorry for myself right now

Had one those days my self. 3 year old trod on foot. Ruined best boots, think toe might be brokenand the nail will definitely be coming off. Then rode her and she showed me how big she could rear. Then she bit me. She is not normally such a knob.
The bonus of the day my naughty chestnut mare was a complete babe. For a change.

Ouch!! At least I'm still intact I suppose lol. Hope your toe is ok and has a swift recovery.

Horses ah!! Remind me why we have them again!!

Hmm, choices today:

Go by bus to yard, involves two mile hike uphill, unless the bus driver decides to drop me in the middle of nowhere again, in which case six miles, yay! But he only does that if it is foggy/frosty/raining heavily...

Or beg mother in law (from hell) for a lift...

This has been my reality for the past month, and will continue until husband is able to drive again. So until xmas. On the bright side, I have lost a lot of weight.

:D

Nosy sod of a horse decided to knock me out because someone walked past her stable door. She was happily munching on her hay and then swiveled round so quick and head butted me my vision went for a bit. She then decided today she wasn't having her feet picked out and so was leaning on me, pretending to fall, nudging my bum whilst i have hold of her fronts. It's worse because it's soggy and miserable out

Look on the bright side, you've lost weight and your also now a lot fitter which helps when riding :)

Also because your burning off so many calories, you can eat more goodies over Christmas without feeling guilty

Very true! And have gone from no horse to ride, to choice of four lovely horses to help exercise whenever I am free. So not too bad...well, aside from the mother in law, lol!

Goose for xmas, methinks! :)

I've had one of those recently, horse came back from hunting with a infected leg- after a couple of days seeing how it went, had the vet out = lots of money spent and a bored horse. Bored horse decided in his boredom, to break the fencing down (post and rail!) so I had to stand hammering that in the dark after the vet had been. Got home, cat has an abscess on her head! so that was another vet trip to make in the morning. And guess how I started that day? I failed my driving test first thing in the morning :( ! oh and I lost a pretty 50p coin in the mud :p

Holds hand up :)

Also had a crap day. Horse that on box rest and being brought back into work was a complete tit. After attempting ridden walking yesterday that ended badly decided to longrein today. Horse spooked at a sheep that was definately going to eat her. Resulted in horse galloping back down drive and back into her stable where i found her looking very sorry for herself. Just hope no more damage has been done to the leg :(

Ha ha thanks babymare, think I need it!!

Hoof prints I know how you feel when it comes to self harming animals, between my 2 horses and 2 cats I think I'm keeping the vets in business!!

Hope your horses is ok though and better luck next time on your driving test, I'm sure you will fly it next time round

Oh mudmonkey I think my mare must have been talking to yours as that is her trick, although I usually see the bottom of her back hoofs too!!!

Yep I had one of those days too! My 5yo also struggles with picking up the correct canter lead on the right rein and after a couple of weeks of being a superstar I decided to give him a few days off this week.... Only for the b*gger to double barrel me on the way out to the field this morning!!

I think its more the amount of time and effort I put into my ponies and then to have that is literally like a kick in the face! But hey ho... Tomorrow is another day!
