Ever wished you had a webcam on your horse's stable/field?

Just thought it would be so interesting to see what they get up to when we're not there! How quickly do they really eat their hay, do they lie down much, are they really angels in the field! Mind you I'd probably keep looking at it and never get any work done

! You would also be able to see if your livery yard was doing what it should

and it would be great peace of mind

Ok end of random thought!

We've got one is the stallion's box currently. I have to say he is very boring, does nothing bar eat and occaisionally turn around for a drink!

I was visiting a friends stud once, the horses did nothing except eat, drink and sleep, the only interesting thing we saw was one of the male grooms having a pee in a stable!

I'd love to have a webcam on the field but you're right, I'd never get anything done - I'd be just watching him!

Yes!!! I'd like to know how my horse keeps getting cuts and grazes on his head!!! Theres nothing sharp in his stable!!!! How does he do it?!!!

Glad we dont have the only one then - Id love to know what they all get up to at night! I think they take it in turns to have parties in each others stables by the state of Oscars and my mates horse's stable!

Oh yes, I'd love one. I always wanted to know how one horse I had always managed to c*ap in his bed but bury it so the bed still looked perfect! I would also like to know, like darksecret99, how they manage to damage themselves so often and with nothing obvious with which to do it . . . .

perhaps he is kicking himself trting to scratch. lol I was brushing my horse yesterday, and he tried scrathing his head with his back foot... he was doing it so hard he looked a little dazed afterwards... i was just stood there thinking "thankgod he doesnt have back shoes on

Id love to have a camera in the field... I love watching them all play, my horse is so funny and most the time acts like a foal charging around making all the others chase him
when hes in his stable he just sleeps so he would prob be boring.

Mine plays in the stable!

When he was up at Twemlows to be dummy-trained and collected for AI I got to watch him as they have CCTV in the stallions' boxes - so owners can just log on anytime day or night and see what their stallions are up to!

Shows great confidence in their stable staff, I think, which is reassuring.

Trouble is it's addictive - I kept logging when I was supposed to be working, or at 2am when I couldn't sleep...

Couldn't believe how little time my boy spent standing still. He always seemed to be moving about, even in the middle of the night - sniffing at things, standing up to try and look over the partition, rushing back to the door to make sure he hadn't missed anything, trying to chat to the other stallions all the time, playing little games such as trying to catch hold of the filet string on his rug...

The nicest bit was watching the staff there and how good they were with him - they'd go in and poo-pick and he'd be following them around, nose over their shoulders, being 'helpful' and nosey and constantly getting underfoot. They were so sweet - no-one ever shoved him away, they just gave him a pat or a rub and carried on.
