My daily scruffy riding boots have died a death. I have lovely Ariat’s for comps but not wanting to wear them everyday. What boots do you all recommend? Don’t have to be that smart but durable and comfortable is a must! Ideally not too expensive either as I do tend to abuse them!

I like Toggi Calgary boots. Really comfortable and plenty wide enough for my horribly wide feet. They're waxed leather and slightly chunkier so not too formal looking but still smart. Shop around and you can normally find a pair for less than £100 - especially with Black Friday deals coming up. I tend to buy them when I find them cheaply somewhere and keep them until I need them. I'm on my fourth pair in about 10-12 years (I think) so they last a decent amount of time.

I wear Ariat Coniston in Autumn/Winter & then Ariat riding trainers (or sometimes actual trainers when very hot in suummer) with half chaps in the Spring/Summer.

Before the Coniston I did my winter riding in Dublin country boots.

Yes, I use Toggi Galgary boots for hacking, I find them very good and they last well.

I really like my Dublin river boots. They are the first edition. I’ve had them for years although they are leaking in very wet conditions now. I don’t know what the newer version is like but I would like another pair.

I have ariat conistons too. Had an issue with them recently and even though they were two years old ariat replaced them for free.

I buy Mountain horse Aurora for everyday used to be high riders but they don't do those anymore, I can't stand riding in country boots so I just change into my riding boots and literally just ride in them.

Toggis are good.

My current favourites are a cheap option: Hy jod boots with a pair of suede half chaps or leather gaiters. Am finding this is working well even in wet weather as easier to dry out than long boots.

My current pair are Hyland winter boots, they're onto their 3rd winter now and I'm really pleased with them. They've lasted better than the much more expensive Mountain Horse boots which I had previously.
