Yesterday we weaned our last foal - completely trauma-less, mare walked into trailer and went to her new field, baby stood grazing with friends and didn't even notice she had gone. Neither has cried at all for the other - mare called a couple of times in trailer, but since arriving in new field with grass around her knees, she hasn't given him another thought. He is too busy playing with his mates to care, lol!

The little coloured chap is by my own stallion who we are hoping to grade next month. The chestnut filly is by Cameo's Reflection, and has won numerous county titles and championships. She will hopefully be advertised in H&H this week if I can sort myself out. The coloured lad (Twigs) is sold already and will be off to his new home in a couple of weeks

It's lovely to hear of people weaning their foals in such a humane way. I used to keep my horse on a yard who used to put them in a box for a fortnight, it used to traumatise me as much as the foals!

I love your coloured colt!

Thanks everyone

I am so happy with my coloured lad - he is the first by my stallion, and a bit of an experiment. We have another due next year to a beautiful warmblood mare, so fingers crossed. My lad has his grading next month, so all going well we will also take a few selected mares for him next year. His pre-grading vetting is on Thursday, so fingers crossed please
