Yesterday was Evie's first day, she did great for such an anxious dog. She met the girls on the yard, the horses, sheep and cats. She is nervous but trying really hard. Everyone has commented on how thin she is, I'm giving her two meals a day plus treats and extra at lunch time so fingers crossed she gains some weight soon. She has started eating without getting stressed about what else is going on now, so I think being out in the cold has helped build up an appetite. I'm getting her a coat this week to help keep her warm as she really needs to keep the weight on. She is wonderful on the lead, never chases anything and is the most gentle loving thing, she has been playing with Heffner the terrier all morning in the snow, now shivering under a blanket warming up with a hot water bottle.
I know the photo quality is bad but thought I would add it anyway! I'm so pleased with her!

Sounds like she is making great progress. If she is more relaxed when eating that will hopefully help her to put some weight on, but its very early days yet, bet you will soon be asking how to slim her down.;)

Oh she looks beautiful:) I'm sure once she has got over all her trauma she will be a wonderful, happy dog, you're obviously going to be a brill. owner and it's great to have an update! Good luck and keep us in the loop.

Sounds like a promising start :) I do love Great Danes so I hope you will post loads of updates (with photos that don't make me think I've forgotten to put my lenses in  :D
