oh, with babies can be caused by feeding from a hay net. Their puttin on muscle so quick repettive pullin can cause/exaserbate a ewe neck

the yearling in question IMO has a really bad ewe neck but has lived out since it was born so it can't of been caused by haynet. i only ask as i have been offered the full brother but if it's an inherited thing i don't want a horse with a ewe neck

trust me my lads neck had been put on upside down,lol....he spent alot of time out,his neck only started to develop when he was 3,and it was a slow process(shame i havnt any pics, none on disc all photos

A ewe neck can be improved by correct riding/training however, if the conformation is bad ie shoulder & neck positioning to the shoulder then a horse will carry himself in such a way that ewe neck can be difficult to get rid of completely and will always revert back to being hollow through the back as well. Unless you are a capable rider whom rides with your seat and legs it will be difficult to rectify this to the extent that the horse developes correctly and carries himself correctly through self carriage. Hope this helps!
