Actually ( yeah shoot me down in flames, I'm a squid hugger) I feel quite sad about that.

Squid are one of the most intelligent and sensitive sea creatures. I wish it had been left to carry on swimming around and being amazing, poor thing, two hours to hook it in, it must have really suffered.

AND they look and taste like recycled durex ( don't ask ) .

thats massive! it wouldv been so much better if they could have caught it alive, held it in captivity for a bit, then let it go when they had a bit more info on it!

I totally agree. Film it photograph it but why kill it?

I agree too. Leave the poor thing alone, or if you really HAVE to spend 2 hours nearly killing it by dragging it out of the sea for scientific curiosity, at least fix it up, take some photos of it and let it go again.

Why do some people feel the burning need to kill everything??

It does seem a shame to catch the squid when it was minding it's own business, eating it's dinner - surely it would be better left alive in it's natural environment rather than dead to be experimented on
