This is gross but... over the last few weeks my mare has ended up with several of what I assume are infected fly bites on her udders. They are always on her udders or the surrounding skin, are quite big so must be from a big fly, really swell up and drip pus and blood for a few days. I clean them up etc but can anyone tell me
a) what kind of fly they could be from
b) a fly repellent that is effective against said type of fly
c) or could it be a reaction to the fly repellent?
the lumps are like giant spots and they are hot and painful but heal within 3 or 4 days.
