Sorry if this is already on here somewhere but...

Anybody any experience retraining polo ponies for cattle/sheep work, or where I could pick one up?

I have a little experience with them and found them to be fairly laid back, as had seen and done alot - and looking for something sharper and nippier than the sec Ds I breed - as a kid games-type ponies were perfect, but all sadly outgrown!!

It wouldn't be hard work, so might suit a fairly sound pony looking for a quieter life!

Any thoughts gratefully received!

i would be wary of the really big yards, they generally sell the cow ponies

bred in argentina and cant pass a vetting, not all of these are cr@p- we have two great ones, but many of them have been handled preety roughly etc. etc. i would go to a quiter yard/pony club home... have you looked in polo times, they always have a few!
