Ex Polo pony

I am looking for some advice on Ex polo ponies. I have been offered a beautiful ex polo pony only 10 years old but pulled from playing due to having a bog spavin on the hock.
I am told she is sound and is purely cosmetic.
I am only looking for a happy hacker and heard only good things about how well they suit this life style.
Any advice would be much appreciated

I haven't any personal experience of polo. I too have heard that retired ponies make good hacks but I haven't heard that the polo yards are bothered about how they look when playing. I'd guess a lot of them have lumps and bumps but continue playing until unsound??
Where is she - dealer or still in her original yard?
 
Retired polo ponies can make lovely hacking horses in a new home, but no polo pony would be retired purely for having a bog spavin 🤔.

’Polo sound’ means crippled lame but still able to be ragged around playing polo when the adrenaline is up. That’s from equine vets, btw.

So investigate by all means, but be very cautious.

my vet actually warned me off ex polo ponies for this reason.

Yes I will be very cautious.
I am being told that they didn't think she would stand up to playing for an elite club with the bog spavin ?? but is apparently sound and has been in a hacking home the last 6 months sound or so I'm told ? However they are unable to keep her due to other reasons?
I will have to look into this much more I think.
