Bit late... but i have an Exracer/pointer who came out of training with torn tendons, he was 13 and had raced lightly since 5, chasing/NH, hurdles, won 4 out of 22 races placed many times in Ireland, Cut at 8 years old (we think as he was in stallions races after 7/8 years old), moved to England to do pointing but never did well until his injuries, He had been bar and pin fired. His owner gave him to me after my mare was PTS. I turned him away to recover from his injuries. Started to work on him after one year.... he made excellent progress, and 3 seasons on he is a wonderful ladies snaffle mouthed hunter, and his legs..... never once gave me problems. He's now 18 and is loving every minute of his new life.

Mine is 4 years old, raced hopelessly as a 3 year-old. He's only a baby so doing not too much with him, but he's turning into a super riding horse, lovely regular paces and will jump pretty much anything up to 3'6", I haven't gone any higher with him yet and that was a one-off!

Tends towards laziness on the ground, and is a calm ride. Brilliant hack, alone and in company and I love him to bits. He's everything I wanted. He's got a gentle nature in the stable too, I have seen him weave at meal time, and I think he must box walk judging by the state of his stable. Apart from that, a real poppet to do.

I'd have another ex-racer at the drop of a hat. Though they aren't all like Ronnie! I've ridden a few nutty ex-racers

We have one called Shahzan House. Bought him off the track late 2006 and was one owned by H R H Sultan Ahmad Shah. He won £56k during his time racing (flat). He is now a show hack and was 3rd in the large hack class at HOYS just 12 months after coming off the track.

We have an 8 year old ex jump racer. I call him the donkey as he is so laid back. He used to crib and windsuck when we got him but as long as we keep him on coligone he doesn't now.

My daughter has retrained him and does local showing on him, cross country, one day events, jumping etc. - always gets placed. He is a bit lazy going over jumps - doesn't tend to lift his feet up but he has come a long way and my daughter loves him and he makes her happy -what more could you want.

god you lucky thing this looks one hell of a horse type that i would go for and to think that you have achieved that, you must be very proud ,well done you!!!!!!!!!

God, I don't ride him!!!!! He is a little "peculiar". He started doing dressage at the beginning of the year and as soon as the bell went, did all his test cantering sideways. He either goes brilliantly and wins, or bounces all over the place and moves right down the line. He is not easy to tack up at shows, but is generally a lovely horse. A lot of senior judges have said he has superb conformation. He goes better when it is wet and windy, he likes his rider to wear my jacket (which is longer and brushes on his back - hence why the jacket looks a bit big on the rider!) and is generally a total fusspot about things.

But he was a very good boy at HOYS so everyone is very pleased with him!
