Are there any?

If so, could you point me in the right direction. Am looking for information on a particular TB stallion.

Thanks

Desert King is very well bred being by Danehill out of a mare by Nureyev. In his racing days he won both the Irish 2,000Gns and and Derby. He was in a class era of horses.

As a sire he produced Makybe Diva - triple winner of the Melbourne Cup. I think he now stands in Australia.

I have never worked with any of his progeny so couldn't comment on their temprements.

Many thanks for that :)

I'm digging around trying to find out offspring temprements and suitability to sporthorse rather than racehorse, so was going to hit the ex racer forums, but google is letting me down!

I had one by desert king he was lovely really nice temprement and did everything i asked him really good jumper - not sure if this is typical of the breeding but he was fantastic - bold and lovely paces did well in dressage too ! he was a diamond on the ground to handle and catch etc, could get a little excited but nothign nasty just a little on his toes but think that was more because he was an ex racer rahter than because of breeding etc. he settled after a few months of goign to parties.

My boy is by Snurge, winner of the 1990 St Leger. Snurge was the first maiden to win the St Leger for 27 years apparently (I am no expert!) He is said to have sired many NH winners.

I can't speak for his other progeny but whilst Fred (Rinus Star) hasn't been successful as a racehorse, his temperment is second to none and he is easily the nicest horse I have ever dealt with.

7 weeks out of training and he is happy hacking out, working in both indoor and outdoor schools with all manner of scary things and generally being loved by the entire yard.

He is brilliantly behaved on the ground and when ridden, often more so than the other liveries! As for his athletic prowess, we will see but with such a good attitude and being a fast learner I am sure he will do well.

Sadly Snurge died in 2006. It would be interesting if any of his other offspring share Fred's temperment.

Isn't ChloeGHE's Dustry by Desert King? Not sure but sure I read somewhere he was?!
Jaes out of a stallion by Danehill.
