So there is quite a few of us on here that have ex racers…
Some successful, some didnt make the grade, some it just wasnt for them. BB fell out of love with racing after a few years. A few wins. Seconds thirds and so on..
I am not a fan of horse racing really but I watched a few of his races.. I couldn’t help but be amazed… most of his races he did not start well and he came from the back and won..

My wee heart bursts with pride and I feel very very lucky to have him ♥️??

Has anyone else watched their horses races ? ☺️

Yes. I have seen my boy race and win. I cried!! They are such giving horses. My lad is a great all-rounder but as far as I'm concerned he has done his job and he is now semi retired!! We hack, school, dressage, show, jump,xc etc. All relatively low level.

I cried too, I was gonna put that in my post but I felt I would look like a fanny ? it actually choked me and overwhelmed with pride ♥️

I’ve watched lots of mine run, I put one on for my daughter at first and was yelling “look look he’s pissing up, he’s going to win”
She was very unimpressed and pointed out I’d clicked winning races only so obviously he was going to win! ?

Still was great to watch!

I've got one and I love him to bits for who he was and who he has become, as it was a fairly long re-education job. He is a handsome, kind and generous horse who gave in his career and is still giving to me.

I've also watched him race and yes, it's an emotional experience.

Glad I am not the only emotional mummy ♥️

Trev raced 18 times, 2 x wins, 5 x 2nds and a handful of other placings. I watched the races that he won! He has PSSM, n/p3, n/px, which is probably why he started to drop off. Thor raced twice over jumps - pulled up the first time & the second time came 8th out of 8 & was beaten by 42 1/4 lengths. I found a lovely picture of him jumping in the race online - not obscured by other horses as he was at the back all by himself! Having a great time, from the look of him! He is n/p2, n/p3 & n/px and just doesn't have stamina.

I can cheat at this game as I lead my lads up in all of their races - wins, lose or draw. I've never cried when they have won (I have a hard ass biatch image to uphold in the yard!) But I have greeted them with hugs and kissed their sweaty heads, given them big pats and screamed them home, patched up their wounds and told them life will be OK, it doesn't matter if they won or not. I have also brought back an empty bridle and no matter how many times I have done that over the last 18 years you always hope and pray its the last time.

Every emotion runs through you when they run. I lead up "my" lad at the races today knowing he doesn't stay 3 miles but it was a last ditch attempt to find some sort of form for him. He won his race for last place! Just as I expected! Doesn't mean I love him any less, doesn't mean I will treat him any differently than if he had won the Gold Cup. He is still "my" horse and he will always get the best from me.

There have been horses I haven't taken home and seeing them in their new homes, no matter what it is they are doing, fills me with more pride than they ever did when they ran. They are giving someone else the opportunity to love and adore them, they are living their best life and most importantly they are being enjoyed for the horses that they are.

This is from many years ago with the first horse of "mine" to win whilst I looked after him. And there is a hell of a back story behind that!

I’ve watched his races on replay if that counts :D! It really does make me proud to remember the life he had before me in a completely different world. We are a new partnership I have only owned him for coming up to 4 months but I love him to pieces he is the kindest and most gentle giant!
Oh and I saw your other post, his grand sire is also Sadlers Wells. His sire is Galileo x

Sadler's Wells was a bit pigeon toed. It was hit and miss as to whether he passed it on or not. I rode a Sadler's Wells son at work. Lovely horse, had a hell of a buck in him! He cost 4million as a yearling, he never won a race! I've worked with a few Galileo's and they have all been absolutely lovely in every way except for their ability to race over jumps - they were naff.

My 2 lads didn't have him in their pedigrees. Jeff was French and Gray was 100% American bred. Gray's 2 year older full sister won nearly $2million and was 2nd to Ouija Board in the Breeders Cup. Gray was a very good horse over hurdles and fences, he was just incredibly fragile hence he never reached his full potential.

Elf, do you know if there is any way that I could get hold of a photo of Trev racing? Racing name Trans Siberian, sire Soviet Star. I contacted his trainer Paul Cole soon after I got Trev to ask whether they had any photos but had no reply. I just wondered if you knew whether there was any sort of photo database or something...?

He ran quite far down south so well out of Grossick's range. I will find out who does the pics at the courses he ran at. I doubt they will be on their websites now but they will have them in archive somewhere.
