I dont know any yards etc and the only links i can find are to yards that have already got them from training and have already added their premium on?

Any ideas?
I have an empty stable, a loving home but not enough money for anything that has done anything?

Mine are all on holiday bar one 4yr old and im bored and keep looking at the stable!

i know a lot of farriers who shoe for race yards often hear about them word of mouth.
Heroes is a charity for rehoming them - google it.
look on horsequest - they have an exracer section.
i have one you can have! but he's limited in what he can do...depends what you are looking for...!

Try a few of the yards up North, there is one near Whitby, can't rememer his name off hand but you can pick them really cheap and they will be glad of someone to take them off their hands providing they go to good homes, they will even drop them off for you.

If you know what you are looking for, I went to the Ascot sales last week. There were alot of race horses looking for a 'quieter life'. Some of them only made £400, the starting bid. I picked up my yearling for £800, he has fantastic breeding and am over the moon with him, I hope to do large riding horse with him.

Look on the Brightwells website - the next sale i think is 3rd December or there abouts. There are transporters there as well if you don't take your own trailer or lorry. Most of them are sold as seen though so do make sure you see them trotted up.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Well im looking for something i can do what i want to on ie jump.
I would only sell if the horse and i didnt work out or couldnt do what i wanted to do.

Does that make sense?
Also if the horse didnt jump well but was quiet enough for my OH he would have him to hack and do a bit on.

Get involved with www.exracersclub.com, they have a forum and help to rehome horses out of training. Depending on what you are after of course, they tend to have younger horses that have a whole life ahead of them. Sales are ok if you're prepared to take a gamble, but a huge amount of respectable trainers are now trying to rehome without going through the sales.
The exracers club is also there to help, advise, console and show off your charges!
I'm also looking, but for an older horse that is bold at his fences, with or without associated quirks.....

My friend has one for sale 5yrs old, 16.1hh bay mare lovely to hack out but still green in school she only wants 850 ono. Ill pm you her details if your interested??

Mark Tompkins in Newmarket had one that he wanted to rehome the other week. He likes to keep in touch rather than hand over and forget about them. Might be worth giving him a call. He may not have one now but may in future?

Can you pm me with what you are looking for - and what sort of money...

The girl that exercises my horse is on a racing yard - and often gets a racing reject to reschool and sell on..

They are very very very hard work though!!! Make sure your prepared and know how they work inside and out lol!
There are lots on just the normal horse websites ie horsemart. Or if you go on ROR (retraining of racehorses) Im sure if you called them they would be able to help.

I disagree that they are very hard work! Some of my easiest horses have been ex-racers.

I'd go to the sales or contact local trainers. I bought one off horsemart cheaply but he'd been through Ascot sales a few weeks prior to that so could have saved myself a bit of money and gone direct- though buying privately I did get to ride him.

I have got three!

One has been out of training since May, he is going really well, jumping little logs etc and going over poles. Nicely put together...

I picked up another mare last night that is bombproof to hack etc (I am told) I love her and think she is gorgeous! She is 5

I have a 2.5 year old that is going free if you want something to play with....
