Example of an Obese Horse

[ QUOTE ]
It is my horse

Well, that was him in what I like to call his "former life"...

He eats everything, except Kosolian Blood Salts. He loves banana skins

Now he's getting more worried about what'll eat him, not what he can eat :P

Phew, the way you were talking about him made it sound like he wasn't yours

That was kind of the plan

But it seems a bit quiet in here too...

We haven't had a troll here in a long while, and I was a troll once before... And admin told me off

I could just change my IP address and do it again, but the effort is too great tbh

I think whoever owns that piebald should be ashamed of themselves and their horse management.
You may think it is amusing but for some people who struggle frantically to lose, for example 15 1/2 stone, this thread could be viewed as offensive.

May I hasten to add, those pictures were taken within 3 days of each other: The lunging ones the day after he arrived.

You asked for a troll....I gave you a troll (ok, a tired one) - what more do you want?
I will be listening for the bang....if you ever wear spurs on it.

PMSL! There was no bang - but something resembling a farting noise as he was propelled at a great pace to the other end of the arena - walk!!

[/ QUOTE ]

An early model jet engine, perhaps?
If you feed him some beans you might flat race him.

We tried that too - he said NOOOO! I need to store the extra fat: HHO users think i'm not obese!

Is he preparing for the next ice age, do you think?
If so, he and I may be the only survivors...and I'm carnivorous....

What's going on with its front feet? They can't be real?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its the Borrowers!!! Must be from the chapter when they steal the local shetland to move their furniture!

PS This is a joke BTW - my smilies don't work!

This is beau about 2 months after I got him - after he lost some weight (5ft 4 rider):

Thw weight tape didn't even read on him before!! And a 54" girth refused to do up. You couldnt ride him bareback as you would wobble off and you could feel the fat under his saddle!

This is now(5ft 7 rider):

And this is him just back from being on loan and competing e?pic=71p136v&s=1[/image]

I sat on my hands last night when people made "funny" comments about show condition, but I am posting now as I am still a little irritated. Actually, it is NOT funny and the horse in the original picture is far fatter than horses that show at top level. You won't see dropped bellies in the ring as the picture is simply not attractive. I can't help but think that people who make these comments have never seen true show horses and only see the all rounder types at local shows. Some of these may be very fat and some very thin. But it is like saying that all show jumpers use gadgets they don't know how to use, but only referring to your local show and not international riders. Probably not a good analogy, but doing my best to explain.

Not too bad - at the end of the day he is a gypsy cob and they are built to be chunky. Big belly is what makes him seem worse. A sign of the gypsy cob breed is an apple bottom, though it should be muscle rather than fat that makes the shape.

This is mine - in very good condition as a three year old - according to both show judges and my vet - I have since let him drop off some weight as he was at the upper end of the weight I like him at on a temporary basis.

As he gets older I expect him to bulk out with a lot of muscle which is very different to bulking with fat.
