Sorry guys.... its all about me at the moment!
Currently have No 3 staffie bitch trialing at home. We had 2 previous meetings (yard first time, then yard and home) and now am seeing how the dynamics work out at actually living together. Staffie bitch (Honey) is 10 months, still very puppish, had good basic training and is rapidly increasing in confidence with me (first meeting was very cowed by staffie boy and clung to her owner).
My exercise regime had slowed down a bit with my other 2 staffies- older bitch (11) and boy (4 1/2) who has elbow displaysia so we go out for 35/40 minutes first thing, dog walker or me if I am at home in the week (hour - boy refuses to go if its the dog walker- we think he remembers long walks when he was hurting - the older bitch loses the plot when my walker arrives!), yard where I walk them before riding (35 minutes) and then a general mooch when I am clearing up/inbetween horses. Also trialled H on a short hack (20 minutes) with my old mare and she was brilliant. Don't do this with my other 2 as older bitch is not 100% with the small and fluffy and boy mugs all humans he meets for cuddles - not always appreciated by humans OR their dogs! This regime suits my 2 as they can pick and choose to a degree and leg it back to the car and their crate when it gets too much (and they do!)
Staffie bitch is a little on the lean side for my liking but can't remember what the actual proviso is regarding exercise. Having got one staffie with elbow displaysia due to previous owner over cooking I don't want to do this to Honey. She is very very sweet! and I now have 2 little red staffies racing around! She obviously runs on duracell batteries but am keen not to overdo it...
