Hi everyone.

Just wondering if anyone has any good stretches/exercises for legs that need to learn to go back!

I went riding last night and was shown where my legs really should be, worked a treat but am having problems sitting comfortably today, standing and walking are fine but sitting... eep!

Any advice would be gratefully if painfully received

I want to know this too!

As much as work without stirrups helps, I don't get to ride enough at the moment so some good exercises for the off horse would be great!

Ooh I've got one, it hurts though! You can do this sitting in the saddle or standing on the floor. Lift one leg up in front of you keeping your foot parallel with the floor so your knee is bent at 90*, then move your knee out and away from you opening up the hip joint. Then slowly lower your leg back down. Try to do this slowly and steadily even though it hurts a lot at first! You do this both sides as much as possible and your hips will probably pop and crack a bit as they loosen up but it will help a lot to release the tension in your hips and let you drop your legs down and around the horse better.

Hope this helps
