Buster is dribbling everywhere. I cant see anything in his mouth or top of throat. Took him for a walk round the block (my other two dont ask to go out, and sometiems work themselves up about going for a poo, and can be sick if I dont read the signs, so wondered if it was something similar, nothing). Poked him, prodded him from nose down the chest (along throat) no signs of pain. No foul smell. He hasnt eaten (our choice) this evening but is drinking.

We are going to the vet on frinday as the vet might have found a murmour on his 2nd jab

:( But not sure if I can wait for then or not.

Thank you in a advance. How could I do a pulse???? Is it work trying to do a temp??

Sorry bit lost. ta x x x

My spaniel started dribbling (obvs not a breed that should!) and I too checked his mouth out thoroughly but couldn't find anything.

It turned out to be an abscess in his throat which burst out under his tongue! Once all the gunk was out he was right as rain again. I never felt anything in his throat before it burst either!

Possibly something to think about - hope your dog is ok x

Have you checked the roof of his mouth? is he licking his chops/gulping? have you given him a chance to go outside incase he wants to puke/ my rotti does this when she is going to puke, I let her out she eats some grass and pukes (no more saliva).
As RW suggests could be an abscess or related to his teeth, but it also could be other things esp if come on out of the blue? for instance bloat often starts with salivating? not that I am saying he has bloat but I would contact you vet and explain and they will tell you what to keep an eye out for and if they advise you to wait for a little while or get him checked. Have to say, I don't like sudden onset salivating.

My old English x gsd had this at the weekend!!! Exactly the same as you describe and he never dribbles at all. I rung the vet and he asked if he'd been for a long walk etc so popped him in to see vet anyway. Turns out he'd had some burs...or I call baby hedgehogs stuck in his fur and he'd cut his lips and gums very tiny stinging cuts hence why he was dribbling but it cleared up 100% yesterday and started sat so a little while but vet did nothing to help him etc.

Sorry Toffee, I've only just come on here & I expect you have it sorted by now.

This happened to Dylan (the choc lab) a few weeks ago. I took him straight down the vets who checked him out thoroughly but couldn't find anything. Gave him an AB etc, but no real help other than to put my mind at rest that it wasn't bloat. The dribbling stopped a few hours later of it's own accord.

The only thing I could put it down to was in his next poo I found a load of what looked like small plum stones - I think he had been off scrumping sloes!

I hope Buster is back to normal & it was something of nothing.

He had a tiny bramble thorn in his lip (inside his mouth part) :( :( poor boy.
Hes fine now. Phew. Still anxious about vet tomorrow as if it is a murmour he can't go under for the castration. But lets wait and see. Thank you all who replied
