Hi all !!

Just wondering if someone could know what this is.
I have a 14 year old Connemara x gelding and he is ridden 6 days a week, out 24/7. Lately I have noticed when he is ridden that he sweats really easily and he never used to be like this before. I jumped him today and he was literally dripping with sweat after the first few minutes. He isn't the fittest pony but he's ridden nearly every day so why should he be like this ? We jump 2 days a week, have gallops around the big field and do road work the other days. He is fed oats and meal once a day. Just feeling a tad worried about it now :(

Thank you
Olivia:)

I would be interested to hear the outcome, I too have a pony like this. I've always put it down to her being part TB and very fizzy headed but it'd be nice to know if there were any other explanations! She's ridden at least six days a week as well.

If it is generalised probably the warmer weather when they've all gone woolly or could be early Cushings, if focal nerve damage or tack pressure.

Free lab fees for Cushings this time of year....google "talk about cushings" to get your voucher!

I had this with my new forest pony. we do eventing and during the XC phase of a ODE last week she was very hot and sweaty. I got the vet out just for a check up as just felt something wasnt quite right, and turns out she tied up. So no more oats for her!
