Back in April we bought an unbroken 3 yr old (Jay in my sig below). He spent 3 wks with the man we had bought him from before going off to a trainer to be backed. So 6 weeks have passed and now we can fetch him home tomorrow!
We could have fetched him about 2-3 weeks ago because he had been so good for the trainer, he said he was ready to come home. However, as daughter was in the middle of her GCSE's we decided to leave him with the trainer a week or two more so that he didn't just get turned out in the field while daughter is revising etc.
So daughter only has one exam next week and one exam the following week, so we have time to 'play' with our baby now.
He will be turned away for the winter, but we are hope to get a bit of his education started now and have an instructor lined up to come and help us.
Daughter is really looking forward to tomorrow as we will see Jay ridden by the trainer first, and then daughter will get to ride him under the trainers instruction and then he can come home.
We have told Manni that he is getting a new friend but he was more interested in the carrot ....
