Sad I know, but it's very exciting to me! ;)

I've gone for the Easyboot Transitions on recommendation of Simon at Cannock Chase Equine. Anyone used them?

be interested to follow how you find the transitions as they are new to the market and look very good.

Yes I've been reading they are new, I will report back. Simon advised that because my mare's front feet are slightly different sizes and would fall into 2 different categories, these would be the best to go for as they can be purchased individually.

I was excited when my fusions were ordered and we are getting on well with them!
Let us know how you get on with your new boots.:)

Glad you're getting on well. I was tempted by Fusions as liked the look of them but went with the advise of the Transitions. Hope she likes them!

let us know how you get on with them please. :)

I'm toying about getting CM some front boots as I have two hacking routes that have really sharp stony sections and I wonder about having boots available for doing those routes.

I will take a few photo's and report back. Mine is a dainty TB and I was worried they would look a bit clumpy on her. Simon at Cannock Chase said they are fairly clumpy but assured me they would be the best for her so I'm hoping so.

She's having a couple of months winter break at the moment following a busy year since I had her. I'm going to start riding her again the week before Christmas but wanted the boots early to keep trying them on and increasing the time she wears them hand walking before I ask her to go for a hack (45 mins approx) in them.

Please let me know if they rub the back of the pasterns at all. That's my main worry with CM as she is soooooo fine skinned. It's the one thing that puts me off hoof boots (she can't wear over-reach boots for this reason, unless they are sheepskin lined).

Mine is also a TB with dinky feet and I call them his "florence boots" as he looks like he should be on the Magic Roundabout!!!:D

Yes I think mine's going to be the same! :)

I feel your pain and that's a big worry for me too. Freya is ginger which seems to make her doubly sensitive, you blow on her and gets rubbed! She's the only horse I know that can actually get rubbed from cotton wool though yours sound equally as ridiculous! ;)

They are very new to the market, will be interested to hear how you get on with them, you must be one of the first users :)

Re: rubbing - my friend happened upon a very good solution to this... Lanacane powder. Can be obtained from Boots or any pharmacy, it's about £7. It is designed to prevent skin chafing, but is also medicated. When I use boots on the horse (we use the Easyboot Gloves), I actually sprinkle the entire back of the hoof and frog with it before booting, but for a horse with sensitive skin, just puff all over the heel bulbs and back of pastern.

Thanks Brightbay. I've heard of this before so I've just purchased some. £6- good old Ebay :)

Thank you BB - I'm off to look Lanacane up now. :)

Yes RP, mine is equally ridiculous. This photo shows her side after I rode her in my (then) new Ariat boots for 20mins. Her other side was just as rubbed and I haven't ridden her in those boots since. :( Every other horse has been fine with the boots.

Sensitive ginger girls!

Good luck with the boots. Your trimmer might be a little out of date on boots, most of them are sold as singles to allow for horses with different sized feet these days. Barefoot often evens up the foot size, I hope you manage to get good use out of yours first :)

Thanks CPT. The guy at the hoof boot shop advised me which ones to go for. There were several different reasons why we went with those particular ones, the different sizes being one. I really hope her feet do even up, they are changing already- she's knocking away the flare she doesn't need and it's fascinating to watch week by week! :)

My farrier had a look at her yesterday, just over 3 weeks after he removed her shoes and was really pleased with how she's doing, better than he thought she'd be :)

I wanted to get those for my big lami for when he can start inhand walking but the don't come up big enough for him:( so he has the easy boot RX boot that the last size fits and when he start doing ridden work I will look at different set.

Getting the trail for other pony for Christmas......his cavello a are looking a little worn
