My pony's coming back later Spring time to be put in foal :D

She's my first pony who I've had for years/backed her/etc, though I outgrew her and she's been out on loan for the past 3 years or so. But the young girl who's got her on loan will have outgrown her next year sadly and she'll return to me. Plan was for her to be a broodie once she came back anyway, so now I now I know when, she's being put in foal this year, ready for next :)

Pointless post really...Very excited!

Tell us more about her!

What is her breeding? How old is she? Who will the sire be? What is the foal for? LOTS of questions!

She's 14.1/2hh, Welsh D [Kilcobben King Flyer x Taybog Bethan]...she'll be 16 this year I think. She's had 3 foals. One was 8th at HOYS the other year, the other is a lovely black lad [owned by a lovely lady who I found over this forum actually!] :) Her 3rd one sadly had to be put down, was bad luck in the field sadly, one of them things. :(

I'll put her to one of the bigger gypsy cobs stallions here at home...no idea which one yet, I'll decide nearer the time!

Foal will just be for me personally, a lot of the Welsh x Gypsy cobs we have end up being lovely flashy showy types...aim just be shown if possible and just a very nice all rounder type! Want to put her to one of the bigger 15hh+ ones, so get something a bit bigger hopefully. Something around 14.3hh, nice and chunky but with a bit of movement to it would be ideal!

I've also offered to put her back in foal some point after, if the girl who's taken the greatest care of her, wanted one from her. But obviously, that's not set in stone as I know they have livery/etc to think of....but the girl adores her and has done so well with her, I couldn't have asked for a better loan home for her, so just a way of a 'thankyou' really!

Here she is:

She's very pretty! Off topic but do ppl often put freisans with cobs? Was thinking the other day how that could throw a lovely cob with flashy paces!

Thankyou!

They do make very nice looking crosses...however, I've also found them the most awkward ones temperament wise of all the mixes.

This lad's one of ours who is that mix:

Turned out as a show cob...

Gosh that first pic is lush! I had a 14.2 c x d who looked like a mini warmblood clipped out....I'm afraid I'm a feathers off and mane pulled girl! :-)

Thanks!

He looks better hogged and clipped all out to me anyway, but he doesn't show anymore so has no need too - he lives out 24/7 nannying the baby colts so needs his winter woolies now!
