I now have all 3 of my wheelbarrows with knackered tyres. O/H keeps telling me to leave them and he will sort it... months later, still knackered and with horses in it's a pita.
Just looked on ebay and was surprised to see a wheel only costs about £10!
How to I measure 😳 Is it the wheel rim or actual tyre I need to measure?
I assume it will arrive ready to just pop on?!
I did warn you ;)

I took mine to the local tyre retailer- they keep inner tubes in stock, I'm sure they'll get (and fit) a new tyre without needing a 2nd mortgage

I just bought a brand new puncture proof tyre for mine in the end :o I'd taken it to a standard car tyre shop before that who replaced the inner tube for me but at £15 a pop and less than £30 for a solid tyre, when i got a second puncture i just went straight for the indestructible one. I had a haemmerlin barrow so was just able to get a hammerlin tyre, they seem to be inter-changeable between the brand.

The tyre size is printed on the tyre. Tyres can be bought cheaply on eBay. Have a look how the wheel comes off, some are easy, some not so.
I used an emergency car tyre repair foam in one of mine and it’s still going strong after a year. The other had a worn out tyre so I got a solid universal type wheel (the bar that it goes on is important with whole wheels).

most of the normal size plastic barrows use the same wheel IME. I have given up fixing or replacing inner tubes and now just swap the whole wheel :o about a tenner and 5 mins work.

The tyre code / size is given on the tyre. I bought a puncture proof one off Amazon and managed to fit it myself. Its a bit more bumpy because it doesn't absorb the movement the same as a pneumatic tyre, but its just as easy to use & I'm fed up of wheelbarrow punctures, life's too short!

As soon as ours puncture we buy solid wheelbarrow wheels from Toolstation.

I think they are about £14.99....you just change the whole wheel"

Are your wheelbarrows a particular make? e.g I just googled "wheel for Haemmerlin wheelbarrow" without taking any measurements and I found the right ones. I got the puncture proof one about 3 years ago and it's been a joy - has the added benefit of never needing air as I found even without a puncture, the old tyre always needed topping up.

Thanks all.
I've removed one of the broken ones. Didn't notice a size but will check tomorrow.
Sadly they are not repairable, one is burnt and the others have big thorns in the side wall of the tyres. I know certainly with cars I've been unable to get a puncture fixed on the side wall so am assuming the same here.
I don't think they are particular makes no.

I had terrible trouble buying replacement tyres for my big wheelbarrow, the axle size was weird or something, even when I watched a video on how to measure a wheelbarrow tyre i still got it wrong. Hope you have better luck than me!

I took mine to tyre place and they replaced tyre, and the other i bought a solid wheel so no more punctures.

Definitely buy solid wheels. The size should be on the existing tyre but the axle width is 'complicated' - I struggled to know where to measure.....they are not all interchangeable by any means!

I've found solid wheels on my friends wheelbarrow rather horrible to push over lumpy hard ground - do you find this or are there more than one type of solid tyre? Thanks.

You can get solid rubber ones, or for a bit more money you can get a non puncture pneumatic one, which feels much more like a normal blow up one to push around. We have both types, I much prefer the pneumatic one but you pays your money, etc. I think they make them with some sort of spongy rubber or incorporate small air chambers inside or something. Still going strong after several years, anyway. Last ones came from these people:
