Alot of ppl at my yard bandage legs when exercising, now they do not then put a gamgee underneath then do they? Its just something I have always wondered but never knew! Thanks

they should, fybagee is better than gamgee under exercise bandages i think. you should never bandage straight onto legs because you get ridges across the tendons where the edges of the bandages are.
fwiw exercise bandages look nice but actually provide no real support whatsoever... no nromal boot or bandage can!

Thanks Kerilli! I did know ( or think!) that bandages provide as much support as boots, which amounts to very little really, and sometimes I think they are almost a fashion accessory! But always assumed there had to be something underneath them untill I watched someone riding today.

They should have as it applies more even pressure although Polo bandages do go down the back of the leg and then up again and then round. Im not explaining this very well am I?

depends if they are proper elastic exercise bandages which must always have padding underneath or fleecy polo bandages which are more common these days and are quite thick enough without putting extra padding under them.

Polo ponies usually do not have gamgee/fybergee underneath. I did a season playing polo and never used anything underneath my bandaging and I never had a problem with it.

I use nice fleecy polo bandages & so far havent had a problem. I have never put anything underneath as iv been taught that if i use thicker bandages (polo) not to use any padding.
