dummies guide to putting on exercise bandages ??
i have just bought the fleese type ones how do you guys put them on???
(again ...i wont ride in them or use them for any lengh of time untill i am sure they are on right):D:D???

I don't personally use them, but wrap from centre to top to bottom and then stick. You said you were only 13 so should be lots of people to check to see if your doing ok :)

I know you said you wouldnt :D but please, please dont be tempted to put them on until someone experienced in bandaging has shown you the proper way to do it, you need to have even pressure all around and make sure the joints are able to still work properly, if put on wrong they can cause nasty rubs and injuries :)

any tips then ???:D

You'll get better with practice. Bandage from bone towards tendon. To start, hold the bandage, wrap it round once then fold down the flap you were holding and go round again. Finish with fastening on the outside of the leg and don't make the last wrap any tighter than the rest. You want them tight enough to stay put but not so tight it harms the tendons or restricts joints. When you've put them on you should be able to take hold of the leg and slide your hand down without dislodging the bandage. If it slips it's too loose. You'll learn the right pressure, and where to start so you get a good finish, with practice. Everyone has to start somewhere with learning and you should know how to bandage in case you ever need to dress a wound.

not exactly sure if anyone there knows how:(:(
thanks for the video !!!so with fleese bandages you dont need to use gamgee, just checking :D;)
what do you think of the bandages in the link i posted in the other thread ??

Practise practise practise! It's fiddly at first, I read up how to do it then practised, showed people and got them to correct me and show me how. Then practised some more. Now I can do them without thinking.
I use fleece with no gamgee underneath, and if they are elasticated, use gamgee.

i am getting a bit disheartened it sounds like the seach for the holy grail:D:D
i am hoping i can get someone to help me ...but as i said i am not sure if they kow how:(

I would try and find someone to show you, it's just so vital you do it right otherwise you will do more harm than good.

Do you have an instructor or know anyone experienced? Watching online isn't enough IMO, you need to know how tight to do them etc.

Echo above - practice, practice, practice :)
