Exercise Bridle Design

Just wondering what people would think of this as a simple and easy bridle for everyday use:

* English Leather
* No throatlash
* Adjustments at poll
* Padded headpiece
* Cheekpiece clips to bit
* Standard raised noseband

The idea is so it is easy to use on several horses, as only one fastening/adjustment, plus clips to change bit quickly. A comfortable and easy practical exercise bridle.

What do you think? Any improvements/suggestions?
 
That sounds like a variation of a dealer bridle to me :) Excellent for a number of horses.

The best exercise bridles though are those made of biothane, just a quick wipe down and they are nice and clean again. I suspect that the no throatlash idea may not sit well with many though.

I have many bridles with bits and reins permanently attached, I change the bridle rather than the bit. Mine have no throatlashes, no browband (only one earpiece so fits everything) and holes punched all the way from one side of the headpiece to the other.
 
I would agree with the above post, biothane is great but would have a throatlash over a noseband anyday, for safety. Like the idea of a padded heaxpiece and buckles for the bit - I've just been sorting my beta biothane bridle out to be something similar for hacking in bad weather.
 
If you wanted to put a throatlash in could you have one that does up with a mini snap clip on the end with a on the cheek peice :) Not sure how you could change the length but possibly use a slider thing sort of like how you adjust surcingle straps on a rug to change the length of it, although that would probably only work with certain materials.
 
Have thought that maybe a bridle with buckle billets to the bit and a cheek piece with a single buckle on near side cheek plus optional throatlash would be better. Are clips uncomfortable for the horses? Plus, isn't it easier to adjust a bridle at the cheek than the poll?
 
Most of my bridles consist of a biothane slip head, bit and reins, and that is it! No noseband, browband or throatlash and have never had any problems.
 
I've got a double with no throatlash and again I've never had any problems

BTW re Biothane, when I was in Dubai a couple of years ago I learned that you could buy biothane bridles that glow in the dark! Works from the heat of the horse :)
 
The Glow in the dark BioThane is luminous, sadly BioThane have stopped making it, I bought up the last in the UK, its great on bridles, but fantastic on dog collars, for black dogs at night.
