Hi, we've never competed in harness before, but our pony is fab at driving so we thought we may enter our local Exercise Cart Class this year. With this in mind, I have 2 questions... if anyone could help with the answers, I would be most grateful :)

1. Am I right in thinking this is for your simple 2 wheeled vehicles? We have a nicely put together 2 wheeled cart - nothing fancy, but tidy and freshly painted with new tyres.

2. Do you have to drive your pony with blinkers on? Our pony currently drives without - but would we need to fit them to be legal for the class?

Thanks in advance :)

Exercise cart classes are open to 2 and 4 wheeled unless otherwise stated. The blinkers are a must, as most classes would be judged under BDS rules. I broke and drove my stallion without blinkers, but asked if I could show him without. The answer was NO, safety issues. So don't try to go without them, as you will probably be asked to leave the ring as not safe. Hope this helps.

Here's my exercise turnout if it helps... And yes, definately blinkers!

I think it depends on the show doesn't it I know someone who has competed without blinkers, but then I don't show.(If it was a case of having to show with blinkers or not showing without I'd pick without)

Thanks SO much for your advice - I would hate to be asked to leave the ring... we'd better get some practice in with blinkers on :)

katastrophykat - what a fantastic display!!! I am not sure we will be in quite the same league lol but will certainly do our best.

Apologies in advance... I may have a few more questions once the schedule comes out in a couple of months :)

Thanks again!!! I really appreciate your help with this, as I don't know any other drivers!
