Who uses them and why?

I have a florescent waterproof one for hacking in bad light/rain but wondering if a warm fleece wool one would be beneficial for when he is clipped out?? Or is it a waste of money that isn't really required...

Do you use just to hack or to school as well?

I use them, favour the quarter sheets as they are easier to remove. I ride after work so late in the evening so they are very useful!

I think there is a lot to be said for keeping horses' loins warm... And I tend to use quarter sheets as well.

Yup! Have quite a collection of warm and also waterproof ones, for hacking and schooling, the latter at the start and end of a session to keep the loins warm while warming up and cooling down.
