Lovely HHOers, I need your advice... once again! Please. :)

I am thinking of getting exercise sheets - one for Belle and one for Mum's new horse, Noah. Both live out all year round, Belle is unclipped but well rugged and not very furry, Noah is trace clipped and lightly rugged but we will probably let the clip grow out.

I doubt I would use a sheet during my lessons on Belle as we get moving pretty quickly but I would like to think the horses weren't too cold whilst out hacking, particularly as in the cold months it will be lots of walking and some trotting and that's probably all. I have never had exercise sheets before and was looking for a little bit of advice.

Firstly - does anyone use exercise sheets on unclipped horses?

I would like to find one which is waterproof and fleece lined but not very expensive. Fluorescent colours are good of course but it is tough to find good ones which are fleecey, waterproof and bright. We use a lot of high vis stuff anyway so it doesn't matter too much about that.

Also, what size would you recommend? Belle is a 16.2hh ISH (slightly chunkier than some) and Noah is a 16hh Appy. :)

As usual, any advice you can give is greatly appreciated. Tea and biccies all round!

i have a wrap around equisafety one which is fantastic.

if they are unclipped i would be more concerned that they get sweaty and then catch a chill after, not neccesarily cold while i was riding

Thank you for your suggestions. :)

The only reason I think Belle would get chilly even though she is unclipped is because, so far at least, she has quite a fine coat. It's fine when we are having a lesson (she does get a bit sweaty then but I do spend time with her afterwards, making sure she doesn't catch a chill) but I just worry that if we are plodding about in freezing temperatures then she will feel a bit nippy. I have considered clipping her but I know she'd find the whole experience rather awful and therefore I'd rather avoid it if possible! My instructor thought she looked a bit tucked up from the cold when I rode on Wednesday.

monkeybum13, I like the look of that one and thanks for the sizing suggestion.
