I've just realised how many exercise sheets I have - lots!
1. Large mesh old style V-bandz in yellow
2. Medium mesh new style V-bandz in pink
3. Pony size equisafety wrap around in orange
4. 4ft6 wool newmarket rug
5. Medium Rambo wrap around newmarket fleece
6. large Rambo wrap around newmarket fleece
7. 4ft6 Nags rags wrap around (with added fairy lights and tinsel)
8. Cob size premier equine wrap around sheet in red
I actually use them all depending on the weather and which horse they are going on, but if I had to cut down I would keep the old yellow V-bandz, the wool newmarket and the medium Rambo newmarket.
I have a waterproof one that goes under the saddle- I must admit I don't use it very much (only if its raining cats and dogs)
I bought a wrap around one from equi-ami on eBay- was about £16 brand new- was very impressed with it, they have a great range of colours and good quality fleece
I have the Rambo (waterproof version) - it's well made and great looking but VERY warm as it has filling. I use it on my fully clipped sec d only when we're hacking in minus several degrees, but it would prob be great for a thin skinned tb type.
I have an ancient masta quarter sheet - the kind that attaches to the girth straps rather than going under the saddle. I love it, keeps my boy dry, doesn't make him too hot and doesn't add extra bulk under his saddle or slip out the back! For my old pony who goes at a snails pace and so gets cold despite only having a bib clip I use a Shires Newmarket sheet, keeps him nice and toasty on his little strolls!
I have an ancient under the saddle yellow hi viz waterproof one, an Equitheme cutout fleece, and an Amigo waterproof competition sheet. All used, but in different scenarios.
I've just bought a V Bandz reflective quarter sheet that is also waterproof. G really like it so far. It loops around the girth straps and clips back onto itself, with none of the sheet under the saddle.I also like the tail flap, which in this weather is a godsend, as the wind isn't howling up his bum!
I am another with a host of them though to be fair they are shared between 2 horses.
I have 2 wraparound flourescent ones - one with fleece lining and one without.
2 fleece wraparound ones
1 fleece under saddle one that tend to only use for longreining etc
1 wraparound waterproof with fleece lining for shows and schooling but this is still in the packet as horse been off work.
All have their uses though if it windy with rain rind they can just blow up and then useless so would love ones that didnt do this.
