i was thinking of getting a waterproof one, but do they actually help keep your horse warm or only keep the rain off?? also any recommendations out of the lot on equestrianclearance.com please, or any recommendations of your own!

thankyou

I have a Masta exercise rug (the Quarter sheet) which is lovely as it is waterproof but has a fleecy lining so is warm as well - my boy is usually clipped out. :)

You can get fleece lined ones, or even thicker ones (lined with Thermatex or Mark Todd Coolex for example). I like the Mark Todd ones, personally.

I have a Rambo Newmarket exercise sheet and it does its job, my boy is clipped out in the winter so I use it all the time. Its good as it is brightly coloured too! :D

I had the Rhino competition sheet first which was great for wet days but i dont think it kept my horse warm- now got a Mark Todd which i love. Its waterproof High Viz, and bigger cut so offers far more protection. Its also plenty warm enough- although on very very cold days i did once or twice put a fleece ex sheet underneath but my horse only walks on the roads so gets colder than something working will.
Would certainly recommend the Mark Todd.
