Exercise sheets

How does the sizing of an exercise sheet work in relation to normal size of rugs or does it not work like that.

So a horse who wears a 6ft rug would need a . . . exercise sheet?
and a horse who is in a 7ft rug would need a . . . exercise sheet?

Or is there no relationship between rugs and you just have to measure? If so where do I need to measure from and to?

not sure about a 7ft but my boy wears a 6ft rug and 4'6 exercise fits

I've read on here that you reduce the rug size by 2'.

So a 6' rug is a 4' exercise sheet, a 7' rug is a 5' exercis sheet.

My girl is a 6' 6" rug size so I'm looking for a 4' 6".

I have come to the conclusion that 4'6 or 4'9 is a common size available in exercise sheets and that this will fit most big horses of about 16.2!

Taz (17.2hh) wears a 6'6 rug and has a 4'6 exercise sheet... its the right size although he could easily go smaller... im now looking for one for Rio (15.2hh) whos rugs are between 5'6 and 6'3 as the 4'6 is too big im thinking around 4ft would fit him
