I know this has probably been done to death but can anyone recommend exercises to help Hovis stop falling in on his right rein?
I schooled the Destroyer for 45 mins last night and he was perfect on the left rein - and a bit of a nightmare on the right.
He falls in quite badly, speeds up, cuts corners and seems to move toward my leg pressure not away from it. If I half halt him to slow him down he seems to stop on that rein but seems to understand it perfectly on the other rein (i.e. just slows down).
We've sort of cracked rein back, turn on the forehand and leg yield on the left rein but can't get a leg yield on the right at all. In fact on that rein he seems to move TOWARDS the pressure not away from it.
He was got a tooth coming through on the right hand side so that might be making him worse?
I felt like I was ending up with a washing line for a rein in my left hand last night.
He's 5 and a Cylesdale cross if that makes an difference?!
Any help / suggestions gratefully received.
