Exercises to improve the Canter

Title says it all really, I need ideas of exercises to improve balance, rhythm and to stop my pony from falling in whilst in canter. He is working consistently well in walk and trot and I am now working on the canter.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Try the "square" circle exercise, if its hard to do all 4 points of the circle, start with 1/2 circles first. It allows you to half halt, and gets their hind legs underneath them more, helps with balance, control etc
 
Leg yielding & shoulder fore will get him using himself correctly. He'll get his hocks underneath him, improve his balance & get a nice bouncing canter. Transitions alone won't do it, but as part of this it will. It doesn't happen over night but it will work in time. Good Luck.
