IMO when I saw the little cob at auctions it was very lethargic, and I believe too young to be away from its dam, from the pics I hve seen on facebook, looks very much the same and is loosing weight, hence why the girl is asking for rugs!

I fell in love with the little fella, but didn't buy him for the reasons you state, couldn't risk the horses at home.

Has she had the vet to it??
 
Only having facebook updates so not sure if the vet has been, :-( but I think the girl has 7 horses and only room for 3, so not sounding good.
