Just got back from the BSPA WCC Champs - feet have blisters on blisters, body aches, am exhausted but had a wonderful three days.
Stewarded on Saturday and Sunday and the experienced stewards were great and quickly taught me the ropes, and I learnt lots. Judges were very kind and again helped me and gave advice on how to steward at high level.
Monday, Stinky came out and we did so well, were 2nd in amateur produced horse, he was the only baby in the class, and went on to get first reserve champ - never had such a huge rosette and did a victory jig in the ring. Third in traditional youngstock after two wonderful stallions, 3rd in novice horse, 7th in a big very strong coldblood class and 5th in colour and markings.
Chancer was so well behaved - just need to get more sparkle and presence with him - problem with having such a laid back youngster.
Next year we are out of babies and into adults - and I plan to spend the winter putting into practice the tips and hints I picked up.
