Took my dogs to the local nature reserve Sutton Park this afternoon and was delighted to meet the wild Exmoor Ponies.

Managed to take a few short clips of them on my phone and popped the clips together into a short video.

You wouldnt know the park was surrounded completely by residential land.

Hope you enjoy it :)

I grew up in Sutton, lovely to see bids.

whereabouts are the ponies? are they near the Elizabeth Svensen centre?

Thank you so much for posting that video! It brought back so many happy memories of swimming in Bracebridge Pool when I was a child. I used to live 10 minutes' walk away from Sutton Park. It is beautiful. How lovely to see Exmoor ponies there.

I also have fond memories of Sutton Park, used to ride from Park Lane by Castle Vale, was quite a long way, then used to ride around the park and go swimming with the ponies in the lake, packed lunch, argh good old days. Surprised about the exmoors being there! are they meant to be or are they fly grazing ??

they are meant to be there. There were introduced in 1999 and are in a fenced section of the park with safety gates to let visitors in and out of the area. They are doing a grand job keeping the unwanted plants in check.

They have herds of cattle grazing the rest of the park.

Exmoors are used for conservation grazing across the country, there's lots of herds around.
