Experiences of animal friends please

Hi,

As above wanting people's experience on animal friends ( lifetime policy, particularly the 10,000 one) or would I be best of paying for Pet plan which are normally really good at paying out.

Some insurances won't cover her due to her being crossed with an American Bulldog

I believe they don’t include third party cover in their plans; however Pet Plan include it as standard.

My Animal Friends insurance provides 2 million third party cover

We are with animal friends and when we claimed the money was back in our bank the day the dig came out of the vets!!

I've never had a problem with them. For the horse I had dreadful problems with Pet Plan.

This has been my experience too. I’ve had a few claims for my dog over the years and they’ve been brilliant every time. Responded so quickly and paid out on all of them no questions asked.

I have had one clain since moving to them for one of my dogs.. Paid up v quickly.

I said I would update when they paid on my current claim and they paid out within a week of receiving it. No problems at all. I thought it would be a bigger claim but it was 1600.00 and they paid out 1450.00 - it was minus excess and some investigations that were not covered. The excess is £95 so not a bad service.

Great news, what investigations did they not cover?

There is a limit on lab costs and it was the courier costs they did not cover for bloods to be sent. They seem to cover the actual tests. I am not unhappy, they are a business, they are there to make a profit like any business. I have yet to have an insurance company that was perfect but this company is easy to contact, polite, pays up quickly and I am happy with the cover.

That's good and yes that's true! Yes they are the most important! Glad they delivered when you needed to claim

I have used them for my other accident prone, sensitive terrier who has had orthopaedic surgery on his hind leg twice and they have never ever queried anything.
