Experiences of ingrowing hairs in eyelids

Has anyone experienced this with their horse and what route did you take?

No experience, but it will require surgery to pull the eyelid up a bit. Don't hang about, it is excrutiatingly painful and can lead to blindness.

No experience in a horse but a friends dog had this and had the surgery done. What an improvement in his quality of life, hes a different dog. She was told it could revert back though but so far hasnt and its a couple of years now. She was told it is like having glass in your eye permanently so no wonder hes happier.
