My mare was fine last night, my sharer let me know she was stiff/lame this morning when she turned her out but she's not very experienced and I was at work so unable to be contacted.
When I got up to see her after work I found a very lame, very swollen leg (yo had pulled her in mid afternoon as she was pretty lame in field but said it wasn't anywhere near so swollen as this evening). Vet came and thinks she has lymphangitis. She's had IV antibiotics, NSAID's and corticosteroids. He's coming back tomorrow for more IV antibiotics and NSAID's and, if she's more comfortable, she's to go out.
Please can you share your experiences of dealing with this, how long it took to resolve and what the long term consequences were?
