Hello

Does anyone have any experiences with Pro-Fit studs?

They are the ones that use a combination of interference fit and magnets, rather than the traditional screw thread.

I saw them demonstrated at an exhibition - I couldn't pull one out, but there again, I'm not a 600kg hunter doing galloping over a cross-country course.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

I think they look like a brilliant concept but far too pricey for me. It is very expensive & can you imagine the horror if you lost one.....or [gulp] the farrier's bit got lost!!
As good as they sound I think I'll save my money & just keep with my current system which isn't actually too much hassle :)

I was lucky enough to win a kit and I am REALLY impressed so far. They are super easy to use, and feel incredibly secure when fitted although admittedly I have not yet ridden in them! Any members of #twittereventing should keep an eye on the facebook group over next few weeks if it's the price that is inhibitive...

Him and Oliver Townsend were having a very good look at them at Your Horse Live. I really like the idea but its the cost that puts me off. Plus tbh you would need to buy the tap as well as I am sure no farrier is going to purchase one unless the demand is there.

Lucky for some!!

The thing is, it is a bit of chicken and egg. They may need to start a reward scheme to get farrier's to buy in to the system, otherwise it is nearly £200 to get a set.
