Exporting horses to the UK...?

Hi,

does any one know if i was to export a horse to the UK from australia,would i face any kind of entry barriers( eg . tariffs,import licenses,quotas )or any kind of taxes?

I wouldn't think you would pay tax. This only applies if you are buying a Horse from abroad and importing it in. However, there are bound to be procedures and as MrsMozart has posted...for this you need to contact Defra. You can email them and they do reply quite quickly.
That said, you will need to employ the services of a transport agency anyway and most will sort all the paperwork for you. Ask your vet to suggest one or have a search online.
