Hi,

Anyone have any expereince or thoughts on exporting their horse to Australia(from the UK)? Im thinking of moving back there. Love my horse, dont want to leave him, but dont want to cause him unnecessary suffering by transporting him to Australia either. I have had a little serach on internet and think the cost is about £6k starting price. Extras to add on im sure. His a well bred warmblood and from living out in oz previously i know how pricey they are out there. Its a dilemma as selling him may be hard too. Arghh! Any thoughts or expereinces welcome.

One thought: horses competing at international level are regularly flown all over the world. No, it probably won't be the most fun for him but doing it as a one-off will hardly be what you'd call welfare-compromising. I know someone who used to fly with them in the groom's section and I think there were something like 5 or 6 horses per person which doesn't sound too bad. Good luck!
