I am having trouble visualising how they will do this....perhaps in the initial or final halt they could stand in their stirrups?!

Good point - I wonder if they're allowed to ride in a sequinned mesh vest top - that seems to work too. There's a nice mental image for us all

i am sort of liking the idea of WFP, Clayton and Andrew Nicholson in shiny shirts exposing their chest hairs assuming they have some of course. perhaps mary and tina will find it in their hearts to apply a few feathers and buts of diamante to the horses browbands and wear one of thosr incy wincy backless top things that have to be held on by tape. and dancing to arlene's greatest moment in pop history....I Lost my Heart to a Starship Trooper

should make the pit stop very quick as they could put their xc gear over the top.
 
Now that's a bit mean Lucretia - incy-winsy backless tops held on with tape sound bad enough for sitting trot....but to go XC with just a XC shirt and a BP over the top sounds like a recipe for agony - or is this some kind of cross-over programme....Strictly Eventing meets I'm an event rider, get me out of here?

I've never hidden my identity .... just trying to give you some correct info that's all and didn't want Lucinda's supporters to think she wasn't going to go. Only the doctors will stop her from competing and that decision will be taken nearer the time if her wound hasn't healed enough. Hope you enjoy the competition. Rachel!
 
I wasn't the person suggesting you might wish to stay anon - there was no reason to think you might, for the very reason I pointed out!

As for Lucinda - well, we'll see if she is there on the day I guess, but I wouldn't put money on it. My guess is anyone even slightly doubtful fitness-wise (horse or rider) will get replaced as it won't look good if out of only 20 combinations people who were known not to be 100% don't complete....this is meant to be showcasing the sport to a new audience (though I am yet to hear about anyone who isn't horsey who has bought a ticket LOL).

PMSL Baydale! I saw a picture of Pippa Funnell last week does that count?
But FFS everyone knows cinda had a fall at pau, anyone who has anything to do with team fred even second hand like boss, knows that the wound went a bit wrong and anyone else who has been to see her in hospital and seen her phone pictures of the saga knows chances are she wont be riding. its not rocket science , she has got a bloody great skin graft in a not great place. but there is still a week to go and she is not oficially withdrawn quite yet and so i wont quite write her off yet.
