Extemer wind......

Yep very windy here in the south and very frosty this morning.
Note to self - don't wear a lightweight dress in this type of weather #pantsonshow !!!

heavy frost here this morning and bloomin cold wind-poo picking the field was not pleasant, but it is dry and will dry out more if the wind stays for a while-just hope we don't get tomorrows rain

Got to laugh watching news and they have reporters standing on beaches saying there be tidal surges. Surely they don't need to stand on beach to report that there be surges or am I missing something?
I was worrying that they were going to get swept out to sea by a giant wave!

I do wonder how thick they think their viewers are, that we can only picture the sea with a live feed! Just as in the same way that Nicholas Witchell chap always has to stand outside with his back to Buck House when he reports on anything royal!

Wind is easing a little now and the sky is brighter.

Its the same when it snow's cause we never seen the white stuff lol

The wind is getting up here, and it is a bit scary following so soon after St Judes storm. We had huge old oaks falling like ninepins then, and some branches are split, meaning it won't take much for them to come down. We were without electricity for a few days then, hoping it won't happen again.

OH wants to go and look at the sea, but warnings are out for storm surges and flooding, so I have talked him out of it :)

We are in coastal Suffolk

Blowing well in Worcestershire, didn't try to open the big barn doors I would still be in there now. Silly old horse having a hissy in the wind and had to come inside for his own safety. Others bum to the wind and stood quiet. It is getting worse here but still dry.

It's pretty windy her in S.Glos, gusts upto 50mph but it is dry. Had the farrier first thing, my mare hates the wind but she was good. Haven' put them out though as that would be asking for trouble as the field is a no-no in this wind with her. So long as she's in the yard, she feels safe. Can't imagine what it's like up north, must be scary.

Wind dropping here in West Yorkshire I think, and cloudless blue skes. Might consider bringing the nags in early so it's daylight so they don't have too much fun evading capture and watching us fall over in the dark. : D

Very windy here, lost 4 ridge tiles :(. Lady g lives out and is munching away. Making sure she's away from trees etc. the stabled horses at the yard are all in (thankfully the stables are really sheltered).

The snow has arrived too and it's still windy (tho not as bad) we've got about 3/4 of an inch (give or take).

Horrible morning here (Northumberland), although sun is coming out now and wind has dropped slightly. Horses are all in today- too dangerous when you see the amount of fallen trees around here! Going to take her out for a lunge in a bit though now that it's stopped raining/snowing/hailing!
Days like today when I'm very glad I'm now at a livery with indoor stables, don't have to step outside at all (indoor taps, indoor muck heap etc!)!!

I believe that Kent has a severe flood warning in place for tomorrow....

No it doesn't.

Well that serves me right for being so smug about nice weather here!

Keep on being smug - there are no weather alerts in Kent for the foreseeable future! Currently bright and breezy (she says smugly)

Hope those who are experiencing nasty weather keep themselves and their animals safe!

Quite calm weather wise in West Midlands / Warwickshire, although it is rather blustery, and we have had a fair bit of rain this last hour. Over the course of the day, it has died down a bit though. We live on the top of a hill, so thankfully little chance of flooding.

Horses are all out, fillet string rugs still in place. They've had a few hooleys but all ok and munching with their bums to the wind and tucked up behind the hedge.

Sorry if that was false info re the weather warning, I double checked on the BBC on line news before I posted that earlier but I can't see it any more. Maybe I am hallucinating :confused3:.

Hear hear to the second sentiment!

I'm in shropshire too. Got up in the dark and it was just windy. Had my washing out for a bit but now it's hammering down. Horse went out as normal and will fetch him in later. Wasn't planning to ride anyway today as no time, but YO meant to be schooling him tomorrow though I wouldn't fancy it if I was her and this carries on... He can be sharp at the best of times so I suspect they may end up in orbit... :/

Super blustery and wet in Cheshire, sad to say. Didn't put Harry out, though we did have a walk around the farm, rugged up, just so he wasn't stood inside all day. Was very pleased when we got back to his stable!
No snow here, but chucking it down with rain every 20 minutes or so.

Very windy this morning, poured down at lunch but appears to have blown itself out mostly now. There's nothing around the arena that can blow over and as Mona doesn't seen phased by much going to have a go riding tonight if it doesn't get any worse (with mom on hand if it all goes pear shaped!), hopefully she'll retain her seaside donkey brain tonight!

Solihull west mids

Its wild here, went to leave to go to work and theres a few trees down at home wheelie bins were everywhere and lost a few of the greenhouse panels! Then an hour ago we had a blizzard and it sounded like the house was going to blow away! On the brightside i got a half day at work woohoo! so chilling in the house for me! then will sort my two out later on, no riding today anyway!

In Newcastle a few minutes ago we had wind, rain, snow and bright sunshine at the same time! All the weather at once. The wind has died down a lot since this morning, but goodness knows where my recycling bin will be when I get home...

Lisa lives out unrugged during the day but comes in at night so she'll probably be glad to get in from the weather to munch some hay this evening! She's a very fluffy Fell pony but there's only so much wind and rain their coats can take.

No it doesn't.

I wouldn't be too smug, I heard on the radio news that they are raising the Thames barrier tomorrow because of the weather!

Currently windy in surrey/kent but nothing noteworthy.

I feel as though I should do this in the style of the reporters I've seen on TV this morning.

Imagine me in a raincoat 5 inches thick, hair on a 30 degree angle, being blasted in the face by horizontal rain, and bellowing this into an overlarge microphone.

IT'S QUITE BLOWY IN NORTH WALES!! BBC has reported a recycling bin overtaking traffic outside Glyndwr University. We have a number of trees down and some serious flooding in Chester, and Rhyl is underwater. Ponies are all OK, but I think I'll skip riding today.

Not too bad in Wiltshire. Very blustery, which meant that when the wind pushed down on the fencing this morning, Fly leapt in the air like a trampoline pro (nothing as graceful as airs above the ground) and in a sheer fluke, she managed to land on the other side. 2 seconds later, she realised this and effed off across the other half of the field. This alerted Molly who was no more than 10ft away from the fence. Head up, one stride and pop, she was over. MOLLY CAN JUMP!!! Remembered I took their head collars home to clean so thought I'd try and use food to get them back in. Three times they came back through my very wide gateway, only for Fly to put her nose to the bucket, then disappear again, Molly in hot pursuit!

I took a breath, came home, got head collars and Molly bless her walked straight up to me and put her head in for me as she always has. Put her in field, went to get Fly. Fly said no, lol. She's so funny. She plays games. She'll walk towards you and then thwo or three strides out, she charges past you leaving about enough room for a gnats willy! I don't play this game. I walked off to give her apple to the horses in the next field and low and behold, who suddenly appeared all sweetness and light?? Yep, Fly, put her head in the head collar for me and off we went. All sorted. Had to get creative teaching them some fencing lessons again but they are head down in the grass, not at all bothered by the wind.

Hope everyone getting the worst of it is ok.
