Extra Deep Rug

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a really extra deep rug? I have a 17'3 Irish Draught and yet another I bought which was advertised as 'deep' sits on him like a mini dress!! He has the Rambo Excel which is the best fit thus far, but want to stock up when the rug sales start and would love to have a nice deep alternative to the Rambo?

I have found that the Premier Equine rugs fit my 17.2 IDxTB really well, they actually cover his belly.

Bucas Rugs fit big irish horses brilliantly. Also Mark Todd rugs are cut well to fit big shouldered horses.

FAL rugs are lovely and deep. mine live out in them all winter, never rub, never get cold, even in torrential rain the wet never gets through.

I find Masta rugs too big for my horse so maybe they are worth a try?

I found Fal and Mark Todd rugs brilliant for my 17.1hh clydie x. Masta rugs are useless for big shoulders

Premier Equine are good on my ID. I also find Masta Checktech ok & they do an extra deep version that is very deep.

My favourite is Fal but Premier Equine are a good alternative on the pocket and if you horse is out with 'vandals'

I have got a 17hh Irish draught that takes a 7'3 or 7ft6 rugs and have fond Masta's to be very good on her, not tried any of the others already mentioned. Weatherbeeta are like mini skirts on her. She had a new Masta this year and it fits her perfect.

Some of Shires rugs are amazingly deep (to that they actually cross over under my boys belly, he sint chunky as such, but hes a decent riding horse build). The likes of the Strombreaker etc are the ones which are deep
