Hello,

Im on DIY with services in North london

Hold for vet/teeth/farrier - £5
Poo picking - N/A although i used to pay someone £8 and hour to do about 3-4 hours a week for me.
Muck out full bed - £7
Muck out with mats - £7
Make up and give feed (feed is the horse owners purchased feed) - Its £1.50 to chuck the food over the door but not sure on making them up
Make up hay net (hay provided by horse owner) - Its £1.50 to chuck the hay over the door but not sure on making them up
Bring in - £3.50 with pick out and rug change included
Rug change - as above
Check - £5.
Basic groom - N/A im not sure we offer it but would use it if we did

I would say these are too specific. I would offer Bring in/turnout with feet and rug changes, muck out, and full/half livery day services and then adhoc the rest :)

:)

I find it's far easier to provide more expensive livery, and do all the feeding/poo picking/turning out, as well as supplying basic feed, hay and bedding. Less mess, less stuff, and less arguing about who has and hasn't done their bit.
My lot do their own horses at weekends, and I charge £5 to muck out if they aren't around - but that's the only extra i charge for

Because we’re newly coming into the business we Were feeling we don’t want to over offer and force services upon people who may feel they’d rather pay someone with ten yrs under they’re belt that extra money or do it themselves. They’re basic chores that we’re more than competent providing and live onsite at yard all day. But thought also it might skip the odd politics of “my horse doesn’t need a feed or bedding or this and that and i’m paying same as them” or “my beds not as full as i’d like” etc etc. Was thinking if we offer the basic DIY package and add ons are as and when if needed. We have the bedding, hay feed on site to buy but just wanted to bypass some nit picking and politics and so everyones clear on if they need anything and its itemised at end of month as extras.
we have a storage barn and to further prevent any other possible yard politics of “someones used my hay or this is missing” will have a camera in storage area that can be gone to if anythings gone amiss.
Plus theres the odd one day a week we’ll be busy to do extensive extra services as have another business commitment that would prevent us doing so and it would be down to them to find help that day..

We're on a yard with a similar set up. A basic fee for stable & turn out with extra services charged as necessary. I think our YO works on a basic hourly rate for these. TO or fetch in are 1.10 but no rugs to do. Muck out is 3.30. IIRC full care all day is £10 to include making feed etc as appropriate and poo picking if for a few days. Other services would be charged on the hourly rate for the relevant length of time. We are east midlands nr Peterborough. Also buy hay & straw from YO.

Same we pay a DIY rate and can add extras. Bring in/turnout £1. Change rug 50p. Full livery (all care, to/bi, hay water, feed, pick our feet, change rugs ) £13 per day.

I wouldn't go down the route of itemising everything, doing your bills will be a nightmare and you will still get gripes and politics.

I would suggest offering "bundles" that people can pick, these give you a predictable bill and regular work/income. They should be at a slight discount compared to adding up the ad hoc services.

You can still offer ad hoc services for when people need extras but it should be easier to keep track of.
